Over the past years, there has been a lot of efforts to convert our main energy source to renewable energy, instead of fossil fuel and nuclear.
A lot of solar farms and huge wind farms have been appearing around the world. Major Oil & Gas companies has been pushing their image towards that as well.
So, lets us discuss some of the drawbacks about Renewable Energy.
-Getting the free energy from wind and sun is a great idea. Except for the fact that those are very dilute energy sources since they are "Natural".
Have you ever come across a photo of solar farm while browsing? -They are huge, like a lot. What most of the people are not seeing is the amount of trees and wildlife needs to be clear from that area is enormous.
-If you compare the energy output of a nuclear reactor to a solar farm (Ivanpah, California), you need 450 times 3500 acres to cope up with the energy output of the nuclear reactor.
Do you know Germany has been pushing to renewable energy these days?
Well, from 2006-2018, the cost of electricity has plummeted almost 50% because of that.
Also there are a lot of toxic elements such as lead, cadmium and chromium. The main difference is that they are elements, so their toxicity never declines overtime.
The same goes for the wind turbines as well. Many large species of birds have been killed because of the blades, and some species has been threatened to go extinct. Wind turbines kill more people per unit of energy than nuclear for the matter of fact.

Is it true that it takes a windmill to produce a windmill?

နေစွမ်းအင်သုံး solar farms တွေရဲ့ ဓာတ်ပုံတွေကို အင်တာနက် သုံးရင်း တွေ့ဖူးကြပါသလား? Solar farms တွေရဲ့ အကျယ်အဝန်းဟာ ဧဏ ရာကျော်ကနေ ထောင်ကျော် အထိရှိပါတယ်။ လူတော်တော်များများသတိမထားမိကြတာက အဲ့လို ဧကပေါင်းများစွာ ဆောက်လုပ်ဖို့အတွက် သဘာဝအတိုင်းရှိနေတဲ့ သစ်တောတွေ တောရိုင်းတိရိစ္ဆာန်တွေကိုရှင်းလင်းပစ်ရပါတယ်။
Nuclear ဓာတ်ပေါင်းဖိုတစ်ခုရဲ့ စွမ်းအင် ထုတ်လုပ်မှုနှုန်းနဲ့ solar farm ရဲ့ စွမ်းအင်ထုတ်လုပ်မှုနှုန်းကို ယှဥ်ကြည့်မယ်ဆိုရင် (ဥပမာ - California က ၃၅၀၀ ဧကကျယ်တဲ့ Ivanpah Solar Farm), Nuclear reactor နဲ့ တူညီတဲ့ စွမ်းအင်ထုတ်လုပ်မှုကိုရဖို့ အတွက်ဆိုရင် Solar Farm ၁၅၇၅၀၀၀ ဧက လိုအပ်ပါတယ်။ အဆ ၄၅၀ ကွာပါတယ်။
လွန်ခဲ့တဲ့ ဆယ်စုနှစ်အတွင်းမှာ ဂျာမနီက policy အရ Renewable စွမ်းအင်ဘက်ကို ကူးပြောင်းနေတာ သတိထားမိမှာပါ။
အဲ့တာရဲ့အကျိုးဆက်အနေနဲ့ ဂျာမနီရဲ့ လျှပ်စစ်သုံးစွဲမှုကုန်ကျစရိတ်က ၂၀၀၆ ကနေ ၂၀၁၈ အတွင်း ၅၀ ရာခိုင်နှုန်းအထိတက်သွားပါတယ်။
ဒါ့အပြင် solar farm ကနေထွက်လာတဲ့ toxic elements တွေ ဖြစ်တဲ့ lead, chromium and cadmium တွေဟာ element တွေဖြစ်လို့ သူတို့ရဲ့ toxicity က အချိန်ကြာလည်း မပျက်ပြယ်သွားပါဘူး။
Wind turbine တွေလည်းအတူတူပဲဖြစ်ပါတယ်။ အခုဆိုရင် ငှက်မျိုးစိတ်အကြီးတော်တော်များများဟာ နှစ်စဥ်နှစ်တိုင်းသေဆုံးနေရပြီးတော့ တချို့မျိုးစိတ်တွေဆိုရင် မျိုးသုဥ်းမယ့် အန္တရာယ်နဲ့ကြုံတွေ့နေရပါတယ်။ Per unit of energy မှာလူသေဆုံးမှုက wind turbine က nuclear ထက်ပိုများပါတယ်။
